On and around June 21, tens of thousands of people across the globe volunteer with United Way to fight for the health, education and financial stability of every person in every community. United Way’s Day of Action events act as an opportunity for volunteers, donors and advocates who seek to change lives and communities to be part of the solutions that make a real difference in people’s lives.
These events mobilize the caring power of volunteers to make a meaningful impact in more than 400 communities around the world. Locally on Saturday, June 23rd, United Way & Volunteer Services of Greater Yankton hosted its second annual Day of Caring, a one day, community – wide volunteer event where over 100 community members came together to dedicate their time and talents to change lives, one project at a time. This incredible effort to serve our community represents a close partnership between United Way, our nonprofit partners, community partners, and volunteers who stood up to take action by spending a day giving back.
Day of Caring Projects were held at various health and human service agencies throughout the Yankton community where volunteers assisted with a variety of tasks.

And thank you to the community members who volunteered, advocated, and shared information on Day of Caring. When we reach out a hand to one, we influence the condition of all. THANK YOU for living united!
