Community Leadership – Cultivating a Culture of Giving
First Dakota National Bank understands the importance of giving back to the community. Through their generous giving, they are leading the community in creating sustainable change and enriching the lives of those who call it home.
What started out as a company coming together to make a difference, raising funds for the first time in the sum of $5,000 for United Way, has grown to an outstanding culture of investing in what matters – changing lives and improving the community.
During the lifespan of First Dakota National Bank’s outstanding partnership with United Way of Greater Yankton, Larry Ness and employees at First Dakota have been leaders in overall giving each and every year, investing over 1.2 million dollars into our community through United Way’s Community Impact Funds.
We are proud and honored to celebrate another incredible year at First Dakota, setting a precedent in the greater Yankton community for outstanding generosity. Achieving a United Way Community Campaign participation rate of 99%, First Dakota gained new Heart Club leadership donors to total 69, and reached an incredible employee contribution of $61,550.00.
Combining the employee contribution with the corporate gift of $38,500.00, First Dakota’s total United Way of Greater Yankton Community Campaign contribution for 2018 is a record breaking $100,050.00
We at United Way of Greater Yankton want all First Dakota employees to know your gifts are an expression of your caring. And because of your commitment, our initiatives and supported programs will receive the help needed to provide vital health, family and youth services. Thank you for your generosity and personal commitment to improving our community. Together, we are changing lives and creating possibilities.
This year also celebrates another community achievement at First Dakota. The Yankton community’s first United Way Alexis de Tocqueville Society Membership to First Dakota National Bank’s Larry Ness.
Founded in 1984, the United Way Tocqueville Society recognizes local philanthropic leaders and volunteer champions across the United States, who have devoted time, talent, and funds to create long-lasting changes by tackling our communities’ most serious issues. Members of the Tocqueville Society are notable for their outstanding generosity in support of United Way’s mission to change lives and strengthen communities.
Across our great state of South Dakota, less than 100 community leaders are Tocqueville Society members, with 85 of those being from the Sioux Empire.
Thank you to United Way Tocqueville Society Member, Larry Ness – for providing bold visions and inspiring generosity that invigorates not only the mission of United Way, but the entire greater Yankton community.
Thank you First Dakota National Bank, for making a lasting impact on the lives of others.
